As you may have figured out by now, this is a blog for gay travel agents. There are tons of us out there — every time I go to a trade show, my gaydar goes haywire — yet publishers seem to ignore us. Why are there 10,000 sites aimed at gay travelers, but none for gay travel agents? As a journalist who covers the airline and hotel industries, I finally decided it was time to do it myself.
The Travelgaygent blog covers three basic kinds of news:
- Destination news – stories that affect perceptions of how gay-friendly or gay-hostile a place might be.
- Corporation news – stories about the companies competing for the “pink dollar.”
- Aspiration news — stories that help you do your job better and earn more money.
If you see a story that moves you, motivates you, or makes you mad, please feel free to post a response. Just try to be nice. I’m a lover, not a fighter.
